The PUBG Mobile Pro League - Pakistan is currently underway and is the official professional league for PUBG Mobile in Pakistan. The league began on March 21st, 2023 and will continue until April 2nd, 2023. Twenty teams are participating, including twelve teams from the PMPL Pakistan Fall 2022 and eight teams from the PUBG Mobile National Championship Pakistan 2022.
The league stage lasts for two weeks, and each week has a specific format. The teams are drawn into five groups, and the groups are redrawn every week. There are five matchdays, and five matches are played per day, except for day 5, which has six matches. Each group plays four matches per day in a round-robin format. The top 12 teams after 25 matches qualify for the Additional Match, which is played on Vikendi with a separate points system. Teams are awarded Bonus Points based on their placement every week and their overall league results. The top 16 teams based on the overall league results qualify for the finals, which are scheduled to take place on April 7th - 9th, 2023. The finals will have 16 teams from the league stage, and teams start with accumulated Bonus Points from the league stage. There will be a total of 18 matches, with six matches each day, and the map order is Miramar >> Sanhok >> Erangel >> Miramar >> Sanhok >> Erangel. The top teams will qualify for the PMPL South Asia Championship Spring 2023.
The league had to face some unforeseen events, and all matches of day 1 of week 1 were postponed until further notice due to an earthquake in Pakistan.
The broadcast talent includes Urdu and English commentators, including Pakistan Aladdin (Muhammad Shahneel), Pakistan Aadi (Ahmed Aslam), and Pakistan Ahsan (Muhammad Ahsan).
The prize pool for the league is $70,000 USD, with the winner set to receive $8,750 USD. The top teams also receive a League Participation Bonus of $1,750 USD. Additionally, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament will receive $1,000 USD.
To determine the winner, the tournament uses a point-based system for ranking. For tiebreakers, specific rules are followed. The tournament schedule is divided into two weeks, with different map schedules for each week.
